Aircraft Painting for Raleigh-Area Owners

From RDU-area fields — Raleigh Exec (KTTA), Franklin County (KLHZ), Johnston Regional (KJNX), Sanford — KPVG in Chesapeake is roughly an hour's flight northeast.

Our aircraft painting facility is located at Hampton Roads Executive Airport (KPVG) in Chesapeake, Virginia. We serve aircraft owners from the Raleigh area by appointment at our Chesapeake facility — we do not maintain a paint facility in the Raleigh area.

The Triangle to Tidewater run

It is an easy leg: northeast across the coastal plain, over the Albemarle Sound country, into southern Hampton Roads. No terrain, generous airport options en route, and about an hour of flying from most Triangle-area fields in a typical single.

The Raleigh–Durham area has one of the fastest-growing pilot populations in the Southeast and a busy experimental and owner-flown community. When the paint conversation starts — especially for RVs and legacy Cessnas and Pipers where a $40,000 quote makes no sense against hull value — a one-hour repositioning flight to a standardized shop is an easy decision.

Project flow for Triangle owners

Everything except the flying happens remotely first: the online quote ladder, the scope and design conversation, scheduling. You fly up when the slot is ready. For the return trip, owners typically use a companion aircraft or connect commercially through Norfolk (ORF).

Questions from this market

How far is Chesapeake from Raleigh by air?

About 150 nautical miles — roughly an hour in a typical piston single from Triangle-area airports to KPVG.

Do you paint experimental aircraft like RVs?

Yes — experimental and homebuilt aircraft are a core category for us, and a standardized process suits them especially well.

Let's see what your airplane would cost.

Tell us what you fly, what the paint looks like now, and what you want it to look like when we're finished. It takes about a minute.

About 60 seconds. No obligation.
